Q - How do I enter an airport as departure or arrival point?

A - Simply click on the departure or arrival zone. A keyboard pops up, allowing to enter an airport name. Qualifying names can be made of a 3 letter IATA code (i.e. JFK, MIA, GVA...). If you know the airport codes, this is the quickest way to enter an airport name, as the 3 letter designator has priority in the search. You also may enter a 4 letter ICAO code, such as KJFK, KMIA, LSGG... This is the second level priority, and if you know the airport designator, it is also a quick way to enter data. Finally, if you don't know any airport code, you may enter a city name, full or partial : "MIAMI" or "NEW O" will lead to a scroll menu with all available airports corresponding to your entry. This is the lowest search priority.

Q - What are the little buttons aside the departure and arrival data fields?

A - Sometimes, you don't really know what is the closest airport usable by business aviation. Simply hit this button to fill the departure or arrival airport, and PRIVAJET will tell you what are the closest airports sorted by distance. You have to authorize the localization features to have access to this function.

Q - What if the airplane I want to fly does not appear in the menu?

A - The airplane database will be enhanced in the next updates. If the desired airplane is not available yet, you may choose any other airplane of the same category, the two parameters being the speed and the range.

Q - What are statistic winds?

A - Factors affecting short range flights are usually related to traffic, delays, local weather. On long range flights (more than 4 hours flight time) the wind becomes a real parameter. General wind circulation around the globe makes it possible to anticipate a statistic wind over some areas of the world. For example, between London and New York City, the westerly winds are relatively constant, and gives an average time difference of 1.5 hours between the way in and the way back. Of course, it is just statistics, and an accurate result could only be found by integrating actual winds, which is much beyond this app goal, as it would be necessary to stay connected for each and every time and distance request.

Q - How do I change units?

A - You may have the distance indicated either in kilometers, statute or nautical miles. Simply use the toggle switch available on the information page of the app.
